There is no sealed coach window and no rattling jeep seat, just a bus with the roof off, which suits photographers and anyone who likes the water fights that break out along the road.
Orchards, a village and old stones
After pickup you change onto the cabrio bus and drive inland. The road runs under Roman aqueduct arches, through a Yörük village and past groves of oranges and pomegranates, where locals explain how much of the valley lives off its fruit. A small zoo can be added for a few minutes (ticket extra), and a hilltop lookout fits the lake and the sea into one picture.
Lake, lunch and the falls
Lunch is laid out at a picnic-style restaurant beside the emerald water. Then a boat takes you out onto the lake, with a chance to jump in; on certain days you can also borrow a canoe or pedal boat. The trip ends at Manavgat Waterfall, where the river spills across a wide stone step inside a shady park.
